Meet Cynthia

Cynthia P. Moore has dedicated her career to strengthening communities through leadership, governance, and public service. With extensive experience in the nonprofit, charitable, and government sectors, she has built a reputation for empowering people, managing change, and helping organizations achieve meaningful results.

Throughout her career, Cynthia has served on numerous nonprofit and community boards, developing a deep understanding of effective governance, fiscal responsibility, and strategic leadership. As an executive with the Kahanoff Foundation, she helped develop major philanthropic initiatives that strengthened Alberta's charitable sector and supported community organizations across the province. Her longstanding commitment to healthcare philanthropy earned her the distinction of Honorary Patron of the Calgary Health Foundation.

Her leadership experience includes serving as President of the United Conservative Party of Alberta and as a founding member of its Board of Directors. Today, Cynthia serves as Chair of the Real Estate Council of Alberta, the province's real estate regulator, and as Chair of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, providing strategic oversight and governance for two important provincial organizations.

A lifelong commitment to community service runs in Cynthia's family. Her father pioneered corporate social responsibility in Alberta's energy sector, while her mother founded Alberta's first women's shelter among their many contributions. Their example of service helped shape Cynthia's own commitment to giving back and building stronger communities.

Working with government, business, regulators, and community organizations has given Cynthia a practical understanding of how thoughtful leadership, collaboration, and accountability create lasting positive change. That experience continues to guide her approach to public service.
